The forenoon session witnessed the U-17 – 55kg , -60kg, -65kg and the afternoon session was exclusively meant for  U- 19 – 55kg, -60kg, -65kg.

 
The results of the forenoon and afternoon sessions were announced. 

 

Report of 21 Oct 2013

    The competition began at 10.30AM where the officials were introduced by Mr. Prem Kumar, Tournament Director. Mr. Prem Kumar briefed the officials about the rules and regulations and emphasized that the principal of the school is the appellate authority of the competition. The participants were invited to the Judo Mat and chest numbers were distributed to the participants.

        The forenoon session witnessed U-17 – (-45kg, -71kg) and the results were declared and a copy of the result were sent to the Regional office by 3.00 pm.

      During the afternoon session U- 17 (-50 kg) was conducted and thereafter U- 19 (-45kg, -50 kg) were conducted and the results have been declared. The competition came to an end at 6.00 pm.

Activities of 20 Oct 2013

With the torrential rain in the night the weather had cooled down but students and the escort's day started with a hectic schedule.The escorts and participants were ready in the morning to leave for the inaugural ceremony that was to be held at Ajeya Stadium, HVF, Avadi by 7.30 am. An early breakfast was provided to all the participants and escorts.

Buses were arranged to drop the participants and the escorts at the venue of the inaugural ceremony.

The members of the cultural program were also in school getting ready for presenting a group song. They left for HVF Avadi by 8.30 am.

The grand opening ceremony of the 44th KVS National Sports Meet (Boys) was held at Ajeya Stadium, HVF Estate, Avadi on 20 Oct 2013 at 1100 hrs. The participants, escort teachers from various regions, Principals, Vice Principals and teacher coordinators of Chennai region were welcomed by Shri NR Murali. The chief Guest of the function Shri Avinash Dikshit, IDAS, Commissioner, KVS, New Delhi hoisted the flag. The torch was lit by Padmashree Smt Shiny Wilson, Former Olympian and Guest of Honour for the function.

All the 25 regions of KVS gave a smart turn out representing their regions. The march past was colourful, synchronised. and showcased KVS's might and excellence in various sports.March past was followed by the formal Oath taking ceremony. All the captains of various regions came forward and pronounced the words of the Sports Oath and promised to abide by the rules and regulations in the true spirit of sportsmanship and for the glory of sports.

The chief Guest Shri Avinash Dikshit, IDAS, Commissioner, KVS, New Delhi declared the 44th KVS National Sports Meet 2013 (Boys) open.

A display of cultural events from the schools of  Chennai region added poise to the ceremony. It was music and  dance which kept the audience gripped for about an hour. The Guest of honour, Padmashree Smt Shiny Wilson, Former Olympian felicitated the players and the organizers of the Meet.

The Inaugural address was delivered by Shri Avinash Dikshit, IDAS, Commissioner, KVS, New Delhi.

The programme came to a close with the National Anthem.

Don’ts

• Waste Water
• Throw any solid waste in the toilet or wash basin.
• Throw waste food on the ground.
• Play with the resources like switch board, regulators and other electrical gadgets.
• Go out of the school premises.
• Damage school property, vehicles etc.

Do’s

• Give the entry form correctly.
• Co-operate with the judges and officials.
• Maintain proper discipline & decorum.
• Pay attention to the announcements.
• Reach the play area in time.
• Board the allotted bus as per schedule and with escort teachers only.
• Take food only in the allotted place.
• Adhere to the schedule of Food committee.
• Use the suggestion box for positive and proper suggestion always, which is in front of Principal's office.
• Follow the rules of the game in the true sportsman spirit.
• Meet the competent authority to inform any grievances.
• Keep the windows closed during evenings.
• Keep your money & valuables along with you and not in the rooms.
• Check the names in the certificates before you leave the Vidyalaya on 25.10.2013 and inform immediately for corrections, if any.
• During the games escort teacher should be in the play area.
• While taking the weight escort teacher should come along with the child and certify.
• 25^th by 11:00AM – All the issued materials should be returned to the accommodation committee and an NOC is to be obtained to get the relieving order.

MEETING OF THE ESCORTS

Total 20 team escorts attended the meeting conducted on the eve of National Sports Meet 2013-14. The venue Principal, Vice Principal, the officials for the event, all the in-charges of important committees and the escorts of 20 regions attended the meeting.

The teams and escorts were welcomed by Mr A J Rajendran, co-coordinator of the sports meet. The in-charges of the committees gave a briefing about the arrangements and important details. The escorts were asked to adhere to the time schedule.

The escorts of various regions gave a self-introduction.

The Vice-Principal explained the do's and don't for the students and escorts.The venue Principal later gave an overall review of the preparations done and expectations.

The Official Mr. Umashankar, Observer cum Director for Judo, briefed the escort about the conduct of the meet and also clarified their queries. He told the escorts that there cannot be any compromise on weight categories. No shifting of weight categories will be entertained. Escorts were asked to ensure that children participate in the weight category as per the entry sent.

Escorts were briefed about next day's program. It was informed that the medical services would be available in the campus round the clock with qualified personnel.

Escorts were asked to organise cultural programs during the evening hours.
